Approach

How we work

Complex programmes reward a calm, methodical hand more than heroics. Our approach is the same whether we are recovering a programme, leading one, or reviewing it — only the emphasis changes.

The method

1

Take hold.

We start by establishing what is genuinely true — status, scope, risks, dependencies, and the real state of delivery. We listen widely and quickly, and we are not precious about what we find. Clarity comes first, because nothing useful can be decided on a fuzzy picture.

2

Set the line.

We rebuild the plan around what can actually be committed, with governance that surfaces the right decisions at the right time. Everyone accountable gets a single, clear line of sight to delivery — the board included.

3

Drive delivery.

Then we lead. We keep decisions moving, hold scope and suppliers to the plan, and deal with problems while they are small. Pace comes from control, not pressure.

4

See it through — or hand over well.

How we leave is the client's call. Often we stay and drive the programme through to completion; where a client would rather take it back in-house, we transfer ownership deliberately — to a permanent leader or the client team — so the improvement holds after we have gone. Either way, we are accountable for the outcome, not just the advice.

Principles

A few things we hold to on every engagement.

  • Plain speaking. Boards get the truth early, said clearly. Bad news does not improve with age.
  • Senior and hands-on. You get experienced leadership doing the work, not a pyramid of juniors.
  • Discretion. We name the sector, never the client. What happens on your programme stays with us.
  • Independence. We have no product to sell and no delivery to protect. Our only interest is your programme delivering.

Tell us about the programme. We will tell you plainly how we would take it on.
