About the practice
Clarity & Pace is an independent consultancy providing director-level leadership on large-scale transformation programmes. We are deliberately small and senior: the person you speak to is the person who does the work.
The practice exists for a specific moment — when an organisation is running a programme that matters too much to leave to chance, and needs experienced ownership rather than more advice.
What we believe
Large programmes are led, not administered. They need someone who can hold complexity in their head, tell a board the truth, keep decisions moving, and stay calm when the pressure is on. That is the work we do, and the only work we do.
We are independent by design. We have nothing to sell you beyond the leadership itself — no software, no downstream delivery to protect — so our advice is straight and our only measure is whether your programme delivers.

The principal
Clarity & Pace is led by Steve Hall. Steve has spent his career leading large-scale technology and business transformation programmes as a Transformation and Programme Director — across financial services, insurance and mutuals, consumer manufacturing, and property and flexible workspace, in the UK and internationally.
He is most often brought in when a programme is complex, high-stakes, or in difficulty — to take ownership, restore control, and drive delivery. The practice has grown almost entirely through the recommendations of the people he has delivered for.
A note from Steve. I started Clarity & Pace to do one thing well: take senior ownership of programmes that cannot afford to fail. I have led enough of them to know that most trouble comes from lost control rather than lost effort — and that the fastest way through is honesty, a plan people believe, and someone accountable who keeps things moving.
